Birthday: 6/24/1985
Gender: Male

Interests: My main interest is movies. I currently own 250 DVDs. Some of my favorite movies are "American Splendor", "A Clockwork Orange", "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", "Office Space", "Clerks", and "The Big Lebowski. I'm probably gonna head out to California once I graduate and try and succeed in the film industry. I kind of want to act, but honestly I'd be happy doing anything in that profession. Music is another big interest right up there with movies. I'm a diehard metal fan at heart, but I will listen to anything, aside from country and some rap, a.k.a. G-Unit and all of it's members. My favorite artists include Pantera, Beethoven, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, Jamiroquai, Mozart, Sevendust, Coldplay, Jack Johnson, Jurassic 5 and Tenacious D among many others. I can and will sing anything you want me to if you ask me.
Expertise: Through my job experience I've found that I can shoot paper balls into a wastebasket, thanks to my first job at a cheese factory doing nothing. Little did I realize at that time what an effect those hours of practice would do for my beer pong shot. I wash dishes pretty well, from my times at Flannery's. I can make one hell of a taco, or quesadilla from my times at Taco Bell. I can count to 36 from the two months I spent counting beef sticks at Jack Links Sausage Factory, a.k.a. Hell on Earth. I can make a damn fine sub from my job at City Subs in addition to making salads like no other from my job in the Terrace. I also know how to fill ice machines from my utilities job in the Union.

Hey everyone.  I just thought I'd let all of you faithful readers know that I will no longer be expressing my views here anymore.  I can now be found at http://thementhemythsthelegends.blogspot.com/

Zach, the guy who has a link on the left starting with a "z", and I have started a new place to vent.  So if you are looking for either of our writings, go to the link above.

Goodbye Xanga, you've been good to me.

I won $50 today.  Grant it, my profit was the result of getting lucky numbers in a work pool for the Packers-Vikings game this afternoon, and was won after a Packers loss so the $50 is a bittersweet win.  It's not going to prevent me from using it to buy groceries though.  Shit, with that kind of money and the deal they have at Sentry right now I could buy 25 Jack's Pizzas.   I'd be set for the next week.  No, I think I'm going to invest in breakfast foods.  Why you ask?  Well first off breakfast foods take the least amount of time and effort to make and two they are the most delicious of all meals.  Seriously, what sounds better than some scrambled eggs, sausage links, hashbrowns, and a bagel with butter?  Correct answer:  Nothing.  In addition to breakfast foods, I think I'll end up buying Beck's latest CD, or perhaps some Mike Doughty or maybe, just maybe, some Iron Maiden, cause I'm really digging "Run to the Hills" right now.  Conundrum.  At any rate, I thought I'd share my good luck with you readers, because my guess would be that you didn't win $50 today.

When it all comes down to it, now that Pantera is no longer, Sevendust is probably my favorite band.  I just picked up their latest album "Next" which came out on Tuesday.  Let me say that they have done it yet again with a great fucking album.  I honestly don't think there is a single song in their entire catalog of music that I don't like.  As of the current state in time I am obsessed with their single "Ugly", a damn fine song where my favorite part occurs when Lajon sings the chorus of the song only accompanied by an acoustic guitar.  The way I see it, there is no better vocalist in the business.  The man can do it all.  He can scream with the best, case in point "Rumble Fish" off the "Home" album, and change it up with soft melodies like in "Angel's Son" off the "Animosity" album.

I also noticed something about Sevendust.  Since they've come out, the second song off of every one of their albums has been their first single.  "Bitch" off "Sevendust", "Denial" off "Home", "Praise" off "Animosity", "Enemy" off "Seasons" and "Ugly" off "Next".  Damn good stuff.

Also, let me add a song to the greatest songs of all time list from earlier.  "Hysteria" by Muse is one of my favorites because of the bass line in that song.  It is so damn awesome and upon looking at the tabs, probably easy to learn.  If I ever pick up a bass one of these days you can count on me knowing that song hands down by the end of my first month playing.

Karate Kid: Original Movie Soundtrack

You're the Best

Whoever reads this post should go see this movie.  I just saw it yesterday at the kick ass Oriental Theatre here in Milwaukee.  The movie is a little busy with all of the things that are thrown into the plot, but in the end all the loose ends are tied up so you're not left wondering what happened.  The acting is pretty damn good too.  Vince Vaughan once again proves that he is the master of improv and gives a hilarious performance.  Keanu Reeves is actually pretty tolerable which is a nice change for once.  It's a movie that I will most definately see again, hopefully sometime in the very near future.  It was well worth the $6 matinee price I payed for it.  So, go see it.  Now.

The Greatest Songs of All-Time:

"Got Me Wrong" - Alice in Chains:  Here's a song that has always relaxed me.  I could be having one of the worst days of my life and be stressed out beyond belief, but if I throw this one onto a playlist on my computer, the stress melts away.

"The Last Remaining Light" - Audioslave:  One of a few songs on this list that sends chills up my spine everytime I hear it.  The guitar work of Tom Morrello and the vocals of Chris Cornell are what make this song so damn good.  My first, and very poor, attempt at making an experimental film was set to this song.

"Hook" - Blues Traveler:  I'm a man who likes to sit back and chill while listening to music and this song has always had that effect on me.  The harmonica solo in the middle of the song is amazing and well worth a second listen to while going through the song as a whole.

"The Scientist" - Coldplay:  The second song on the list that give me chills everytime I listen to it.  I've gotten into a Coldplay fix as of late and this is one of my favorites.  It's a damn good song about love, but not the best love song that will appear on this list.

"Stone the Crows" - Down:  Phil Anselmo has always been one of my favorite singers and this song is one of my favorites of his side project Down.  It's a slower metal song that most people can probably dig, or at least I sure as hell do.

"Touch of Red" - In Flames:  The metalhead inside me makes it's first real appearance on this list.  In Flames kicks ass and this song exemplifies their asskickery.  The chorus is a mix of melodic music and singing mixed with a few screams here and there which makes for a damn fine combination.

"Deep Inside" - Incubus:  Incubus is one of those bands that can take a bunch of different influences and combine them into a great blend of music.  This song has a great sort of funk element to it which has a really laid back feel to it which is a big plus in my book.

"Flake" - Jack Johnson:  The mellow side of me is a fan of acoustic rock and this song hits the spot.  I don't know how many times I've sat around listening to this song, but I assure you that the count is quite high.

"Thirteen" - Mushroomhead:  This song is quite possibly the coolest cover I have ever heard.  Mushroomhead doing Seal's "Crazy" is just awesome.  I was skeptical at first, but this is definately the coolest cover of a song I've heard in a long time.

"Dumb" - Nirvana:  I'm not a huge Nirvana fan, but definately have an appreciation for the music they put out.  This song is by far my favorite of the Nirvana catalog, especially the version on the "MTV Unplugged in New York" CD.

"I'm Broken" - Pantera:  When it comes to Pantera songs, there are a lot of favorites, but if I had to choose one I'd probably pick this one.  The song just fucking rocks.  If I woke up and listened to it every morning, I'd probably be a more lively person at work.

"Paranoid Android" - Radiohead:  I first encountered this song when I made the collection of the 100 Greatest Guitar Solos of All Time compilation CDs.  It's a little out there, as a lot of Radiohead songs are, but I love it.  It conjours up all of these strange images in my head that I want to draw or film when I listen to it, so I find it pretty inspirational.

"Sympathy for the Devil" - The Rolling Stones:  This is just a fun song to listen to, especially when driving.  I burned the "40 Licks" collection mainly for this song.  In my opinion, this is The Stones at their best.

"Face to Face" - Sevendust:  This song got me through a rough time during my freshman year of college.  It's so full of anger that I was just able to rock out to it and relax afterwards, with that the hate and anger built up inside me brought to a calm.  This is probably my favorite Sevendust song.

"New Slang" - The Shins:  Natalie Portman was onto something in the movie "Garden State" when she said this song would change your life.  This is one of the songs that I listen to this summer which brought me out of my metal mood and into a more relaxed state of mind.  I would sit outside on my porch on nice nights and just chill out to it and the whole "Garden State" soundtrack, such good stuff.

"The Day I Tried to Live" - Soundgarden:  This is the song that made me love Soundgarden.  Chris Cornell's vocals are so damn good throughout this entire song.  Keep an ear open for the scream he does at about 3:38 into the song.  Chills tend to run up and down my spine when that one hits my ears.

"Fuck Her Gently" - Tenacious D:  The list wouldn't be complete without a song from the D.  This is the greatest love song ever written.  If you don't believe me, listen to and listen to the emotion in Jack Black's voice.  You'll understand then.  This is also my favorite song to serenade the ladies with when I've been drinking.
